Patagonia Health has developed a new barcode scanning feature for its integrated Immunization App, and for the past several months, this new app has been in pilot stage (live use) to ensure we make the best possible solution for our users.
The new scanning option will speed up workflow within the immunization process. Bar code scanners can also be used to capture vaccine inventory in the clinic. By scanning the vaccine’s barcode, the manual process of data entry is eliminated, saving nurses time and effort. The code includes the National Drug Code number and when scanned will present both inventory management as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data for the vaccine.
Once the testing is complete, this option will be rolled out as an optional add-on feature of the EHR Immunization App.
