Electronic Fax Option for HIPAA-Compliant Communication
Healthcare providers need more seamless ways to automate their workflows – including those to fax orders, letters, and patient records. The electronic fax (eFax) option allows users to receive and send HIPAA-compliant and encrypted faxes directly within the Patagonia Health Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Patagonia Health provides a unique fax number, or you can import your existing fax number into our service. Faxes received to this number come into a secure web portal, which can be easily filed into the patient’s EHR chart without scanning. Additionally, referral letters can be sent directly from the EHR via eFax without printing, making it easier than ever before.
- Paperless inbound fax: Received medical records, such as hospital discharge summary, can be filed directly into patient records. Just drop and drag into the chart (without scanning)!
- Outbound faxing: The system saves fax information (name, fax number, etc.) for community providers – making it easy to send 100% HIPAA-compliant and encrypted faxes to any fax number, email, or direct email address. Users can also send referral letters, medical records, information, or prescriptions directly from the EHR system. No need to print documents.
