Is Your Health Department Missing Out on EHR Medicaid Incentives? Find Out!
There are still many Public Health Departments that think they are not required to participate in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) EHR Incentive Program. But public health departments are not exempt from Meaningful Use requirements and many departments have qualifying healthcare providers that should certainly take steps to get their EHR Medicaid incentive $s! A large number of health departments have already received their incentive $s.
As we have outlined in previous blogs, each stage of Meaningful Use has different requirements to adopt, implement, and meaningfully use an electronic health record (EHR). 2016 is the final year to begin Stage 1 requirements for maximum reimbursements of up to $63,750. So, if you haven’t already begun the process of EHR adoption, now is the time to get started.
The EHR Medicaid incentives are substantial for eligible professionals (EPs). Your clinic qualifies for EHR Incentives if?
- You have Eligible Providers EP (MD, NP, certified midwives, Dentists) who provide direct patient care?
- Your organization sees 30% or more Medicaid patients. You can qualify if either the organization (as a whole) or a provider (individually) sees 30% or more Medicaid patients.
The following table outlines the incentive $s if you have 30% or more Medicaid patients. If you have specific questions about whether your organization qualifies to get the EHR incentives, contact us.
